From the 1st to the 4th November, the IDG hosted the tenth edition of the influential Philosophy of Computer Games conference series (http://gamephilosophy.org). Run by Dr. Daniel Vella (Program Chair) and Dr. Stefano Gualeni (Organization Chair), the conference featured:

  • 3 keynotes,
  • 28 paper presentations,
  • a doctoral consortium,
  • an experimental workshop,
  • two expert panels,
  • and a guest lecture organized in collaboration with the Philosophy Department.

Roughly 90 delegates from a range of European institutions - as well as from the U.S., Canada, Thailand, and Brazil - flew into our little island for four very challenging and engaging days.

The conference was a great success, leading to four days of engaging discussions and new insights. Thanks to everyone who participated!

Our Institute contributed to the conference not only with the conference organization (through the work of Stefano, Daniel, Antonios Liapis and the help of a number of students, particularly Johnathan Harrington and Francesca Borg Taylor-East), but also by establishing and running the doctoral consortium, and reviewing several of the academic papers submitted.
